Rev. Dr. Wilbert H. Goatley, Jr., serves as the pastor of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Since his call to the church in 2005, Pastor Goatley has led the church to grow both in membership and in the ministries of the church. He has served as an instructor in local, state and national Congresses of Christian Education.
Pastor Goatley organized the Calvary Community Development Corporation, Inc. (an IRS recognized, 501 ( c ) 3 Non-Profit Organization) that reaches the community through an annual Community Health Fair, an outreach to homeless women and children, support for a local community garden, financial literacy workshops and G.E.D. classes. Plans are in the works for a Farmer’s Market to encourage local businesses and provide fresh produce to the community.
Pastor Goatley received his pastoral training from elder pulpit statesmen such as, Dr. A.C. Goodloe of Kentucky, Dr. D. E. King of Illinois and Dr. Warren Lewis of West Virginia. He received his formal training from Eastern Kentucky University (B.A.), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and United Theological Seminary (D.Min.). A Son of the parsonage, his father is Dr. W.H. Goatley, Sr., who pastored the same church for 45 years and he is the brother of Dr. David Emmanuel Goatley, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention. Pastor Goatley is the proud father of three adult daughters and a son in high school.
